Handset Configuration Engine

Configuring a modern mobile phone to send an MMS, or to access WAP pages and use Mobile Applications, can be a very complicated business, even with detailed instructions. The VISION Handset Configuration Engine (HCE) makes this process much more straight-forward for your customer.

The VISION HCE allows a mobile handset to be configured with MMS, WAP (GPRS) and Data (GPRS) settings, for any network. These settings are transmitted Over-The-Air (OTA) as a series of binary-encoded SMS, which are re-assembled on the mobile handset. The mobile handset then uses this transmitted information to automatically define a new Connection, be it MMS, WAP or Data. The only interaction required by the mobile handset user should be to follow a step-by-step process, and enter a PIN when prompted by the mobile handset.

The VISION HCE can be accessed via a SOAP interface for triggering the configuration messages, or Wizcom can create and host a WAP based system. This WAP based system would be triggered by the user sending an SMS to a given shortcode 1, which would cause the VISION system to send the customer a link to the WAP site. From this WAP site, the customer would navigate a series of simple steps to confirm their network and to specify which settings they would like to receive.

As part of the VISION HCE a client login interface is provided, which allows the client to view reports of their system usage.
